Current Pinball Project
Current Pinball Project
Full Reverse
Thursday, January 5, 2012
It is time, time to start putting things back together. Most things from here on require reversing everything I have already done. Along the way I have to clean and scrub a lot of parts.
How do I know what order to put things back on? Memory and lots of labeled plastic bags. As I take sections of parts off I put them in a bag with a number and name. I put a new piece of tape on the bags at the start of the project. Some of these bags have been used on 5 different pinball projects.
The first thing to go back on are the pop bumper parts. In this case, the parts that go on top of the playfield. They are all new parts, the old ones are either broken or very yellowed. I had to replace the broken ones and didn’t want the nice new white parts to clash with the old yellowed parts.
There are some wires for the bulbs sockets that have to run through the playfield and through the pop bumper parts. I do these first because it is much easier to solder the wires for the sockets underneath now at this point. The mass of wires make things more difficult later. Learned this the hard way in the past.
