The date says Nov 12, but it is actually January 19th when I created this entry. I wanted the dates to match when the work was done. I have been lazy at keeping things updated and I didn’t do a whole lot during December.
At this point the wires have been removed from the playfield in one large mass. After unscrewing everything I slide a long board in between the playfield and the wires. This allows me to take away the whole harness and keep everything in its approximate location for re-assembly. (see picture at right)
While it is on the board I get out a bunch of rags and a whole lot of cleaner. I spray and wipe down the whole wire harness to get it clean. A lot of rags get dirty in the process. The wires don’t look real bad at first glance. After you start cleaning them you start to see how much brighter the colors in the wires have become. Years of dust and grime add up.
While I have the cleaning supplies out I started on other parts. I hit up the drop targets and you can see the difference in the top picture. Drop Targets are targets that drop out of site after the ball hits them. The machine can then reset them back up after all have been knocked down or at the start of the next turn. I hope to demonstrate how these work a little later.
